669 N Juanita Drive, A Personal Favorite

Talk about great curb appeal, this classic 1,520-square-foot residence at 669 N Juanita Drive exemplifies Jack Meiselman’s signature midcentury modern design aesthetic. The teal blue door with diamond accent, clerestory windows, and breeze block wall set are fantastic and set the tone for what’s inside.

I must admit, this house is one of my favorite Meiselman homes in Palm Springs. The owners have impeccable taste. The interior is stunning with great use of color and attention to detail. Built in 1960, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom home showcases quintessential Meiselman architectural elements, most notably the beautiful breeze block screen at the front entrance—a distinctive design feature that creates both visual interest and privacy while remaining true to the era’s modernist principles, although I suspect the homeowners added this feature, because this was not standard on this model of Meiselman homes.

The home features three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the main living area, along with a bonus room that has its own bathroom, providing versatile space for guests, a home office, or a studio. Throughout the public areas, attractive ceramic tile flooring adds both style and practicality, while ceiling fans enhance comfort in the desert climate.

The property truly shines with its outdoor spaces, which are beautifully designed and executed with the same attention to detail found inside.  Situated on an impressive 11,767-square-foot lot—the average lot size in Palm Springs is 10,000 sf. The west-facing rear yard offers spectacular views of Mt. San Jacinto, creating a stunning backdrop for the pool area and outdoor living spaces. This orientation provides ideal afternoon and evening light, perfect for entertaining or quiet relaxation while taking in the dramatic mountain scenery.

The home underwent a complete restoration in 2012, transforming it into a stunning example of Meiselman’s architectural legacy and ensuring that both its period character and modern functionality were preserved for future generations.
