That’s right. You Can Actually Stay in Our Meiselman Home — And It’s Everything You’d Expect
I’ve talked a lot about what makes a Jack Meiselman home special — the post-and-beam bones, the soaring tongue-and-groove ceilings, the walls of glass that blur the line between inside and out. But there’s something about experiencing it firsthand that no registry entry or photo gallery can fully capture. That’s why Susan and I are genuinely thrilled to share that our own home — a beautifully restored Meiselman in Palm Springs’ Oasis del Sol neighborhood — is available to rent. Yup, really.
Susan and I bought this place in 2025, and we’ve poured our hearts into honoring its original character while bringing it up to the standard of a world-class desert retreat. The result is what we’re calling Mid-Century Oasis — and honestly, that name doesn’t oversell it.
The Architecture Is the Real Deal
From the moment you pull up, the clean modernist lines and desert landscaping signal that you’re somewhere different. Step inside, and it hits you immediately: vaulted wood ceilings with exposed beams, expansive glass doors framing the backyard, an open layout that just breathes. The living room features a Noguchi coffee table and a Florence Knoll couch. The orange brick fireplace and the Andy Warhol screen print — bold, graphic, unmistakably of its era — anchor the living room in the best possible way.
The dining area is centered under a sculptural Sputnik chandelier (an absolute non-negotiable for us), with a Saarinen pedestal dining table and Herman Miller Eifel Tower molded chairs that feel like they belong in a design museum. And the galley kitchen? We updated it with quartz countertops, custom flat-panel walnut cabinetry, and a retro geometric tile backsplash that perfectly speaks the home’s design language — without betraying it.
This is what a thoughtful MCM renovation looks like. Come see it yourself.
The Outdoor Spaces Are Next Level
Palm Springs living is outdoor living, and we didn’t hold back. The backyard is completely private, walled and gated, with a sparkling pool and integrated spa featuring a waterfall, a fire pit for those magical desert evenings, a covered al fresco dining area, an outdoor kitchen with a BBQ and refrigerator, and comfortable, upholstered lounge seating everywhere you look. The San Jacinto Mountains frame the whole scene. It’s ridiculous in the best way.
There’s also an outdoor shower, chaise lounges scattered across the pool deck, and — because we believe every backyard deserves one — a play area, complete with an outdoor ping pong table, or a cornhole set. Your choice!
Sleeping Three Couples Comfortably
The primary suite has a king bed with direct access to the yard. Each of the two guest rooms has a queen bed and features art from noted Palm Springs painter and collage artist, Kippi Leonard.
The home comfortably accommodates six guests, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Every bed is outfitted with hotel-quality mattresses, and the whole place carries the same design intentionality you feel the moment you walk in.
Oh, we love to travel with our two standard-size Golden Doodles, Teddy and Thor, so our home is dog-friendly. Your pup deserves a Palm Springs getaway, too!
Why This Matters to the Registry
Part of what we’re building here at Meiselman Registry is an understanding that these homes aren’t just historical artifacts — they’re livable, lovable, endlessly inspiring spaces.
Renting Mid-Century Oasis for a long weekend isn’t just a vacation. It’s an in-depth home tour. You’ll understand why we obsess over floor to ceiling windows and indoor-outdoor living in a way that no blog post can fully convey.
