This Privacy Policy describes how the Meiselman Registry, aka MCM Registry (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website at https://meiselmanregistry.org (the “Site”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and other applicable federal and state laws.

3.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Gravatar: If you use a Gravatar-associated email address, an anonymized string (hash) of your email may be provided to the Gravatar service to retrieve your profile picture. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/
  • Embedded Content: Third-party embedded content (videos, images, etc.) may collect data about you. See Section 9 for details.

3.4 Media and EXIF Data

If you upload images to the Site, be aware that images may contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS data). Visitors to the Site can download images and extract this location data. We recommend removing location data before uploading images.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Editing Cookies: If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser containing the post ID of the article you edited. This cookie expires after one day and contains no personal data.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. However, limiting cookies may impact your ability to use certain features of the Site.

6. Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on the Site may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.) from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website directly.

These third-party websites may:

  • Monitor your interaction with embedded content, especially if you have an account with them and are logged in

We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. For deletion requests, we may require confirmation before permanently deleting your data.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our Site is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 in California). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected information from a child without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

13. International Users

The Site is operated in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

14. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature. Our Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. If we do so in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
